Are these people’s real names?
No. I never use real names. There’s always a private reason why I choose certain pseudonyms (inside jokes, middle names, etc), but it’s always changed.

Are these stories accurate/true?
While stories are always from my perspective, they will also always be entirely true. I take that aspect very seriously. Occasionally, I’ll simplify something to better explain it, but large and important details will consistently remain the same. I don’t believe in changing the truth because I don’t see the need to. When viewed in the right way, real life is way more interesting than anything fictional.

But it also means that I’m going to be real on times when I was misbehaving. Again, while it’ll always be from my perspective, I will try never shy away from admitting wrongdoing. Mostly because I think that my readers are smart enough to see through my bullshit. And I think that making a mistake, facing the consequences, and learning from it, makes for far more interesting prose than consistent blaming.
The only other time I will change details in the story is to protect people’s identity. EX: I may change somebody’s alma mater, job, or another minor but identifying characteristic.
How do you think of what to write about?
Unlike a lot of writers, I actually don’t keep a notebook. I’m of the opinion that if an idea is good, I’ll remember it anyway. I draw primarily from my own life. But mainly it’s pretty easy of me to think of what to write about since have a lot of feelings and have never felt casually about anything ever
